Hi Everyone!

I'm writing you as a current or a past interested pickleball player.

Great news, the courts will be renovated with post concrete tension and lights in 2025. The town has agreed to fund $600,000 but we must raise $200,000 to cover overages from the 2024 estimate of $713,000. Lavinia Gadsden is leading the charge. We would love a contribution toward this endeavor.

To find out more, visit the website www.LCCourtsFundraiser.com.

Also, checks can be mailed to the Little Compton Town Hall, 40 Commons, Little Compton RI MEMO: Pickleball Tennis Renovation

As you may know, the courts are in terrible shape now and desperately need a re-do. We explored many options and both the rec committee and the town agree that this option is the best.

From Lavinia:

There is alot to report about the New Courts and the Fundraiser to supplement the Town's contribution to the total cost.

Long story short: The courts will be replaced and lights will be added. Construction will be Fall 2025, we hope.
Projected cost - best guess: $713,000
Town will provide $600,000
The rest of the money will be raised by us!
Our goal: $200,000
The website with our appeal letter: LCcourtsfundraiser.com *
We need everyone's help: fundraising ideas and willingness to participate
and we need your generous donations. Please and thank you!

We have $21,300 so far.
And an immediate opportunity to double your money, with a dollar for dollar match up to $10,000!

We reached out, with money granted to us last year, to an engineering firm. The engineering firm presented us with 4 options for repair or replacement.
The Town Recreation Committee made the recommendation to replace the courts with post-tensioned concrete courts which have a 25 year guarantee. Alternative options were asphalt surfaces with a 1 year guarantee and a life expectancy of 8 to 10 years. Our current courts are asphalt and failed in less time.

Hi Perky,
Is there an update on the fundraising efforts for the pickleball/tennis courts? I’ve been away in Uganda for work so I’m a bit out of the loop. Do you know how far we are from the goal or are we all set and work has started?
Thanks for any updates.
Happy to give.

Are there any clinics to learn the basics?

Perky

Hoping to set some up

Kat

Hi Lisa, if you are willing to travel a bit, the BCC courts at the Fall River campus will be having some free beginner clinics, by Ray Jackson. To see the current schedule, download the TeamReach app, and input the code BCCFALLRIVERPB. This beginner clinic isn't scheduled just yet, but it will be coming.

I cleaned out the box, and found a nice man watch in there. If you are missing one, please take a look
